Greg Grimes Promoted to Heritage Boys Basketball Varsity Coach

Basketball Sponsored by Cheers Sports

By Dan Sousa:

Leesburg (June  18, 2008) – Heritage High School assistant boys basketball coach Greg Grimes has been promoted to the varsity head position to replace Mark Mallisham, who is taking over the Forest Park program.

Grimes, an assistant for Mallisham for the Pride’s three consecutive AA Dulles District titles, is a former lawyer and graduate of Loudoun County High School and UVa.

“I’m excited,” said Grimes. “I’m sure Mallisham and I will be talking every day next season.”

For Grimes — who previously coached and taught at Notre Dame Academy and now teaches business law, business management, accounting and advanced accounting at Heritage — this is his first head varsity coaching position.

Grimes and Mallisham will have a chance to check out each other’s teams next week when Heritage and Forest Park meet in summer basketball league action.
