Leesburg (Dec. 12, 2006) Heritage Senior Rachel Young officially signed her NCAA Letter of Intent Tuesday to play volleyball next year at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. The signing ceremony was attended by Young’s parents, Wendy and Doug, her freshman sister Skye, best friend and teammate Katherine Buttery, Heritage volleyball coach Carmel Keilty and Heritage principal Margaret Huckaby. Young helped the Pride make it to the AA state tournament quarterfinals this season and she was named the Dulles District and Region II Volleyball Player of the Year. Young has also been selected by the Washington Post as first team All-Met.
