Leesburg (Mar. 14, 2007) – The Heritage High School girls sent nine to the plate in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally and take a 5-3 lead on Millbrook, only to give up two in the seventh inning and then lose 7-5 in nine innings.

Millbrook (1-0) opened the game with three runs in the first inning. Heritage got one back when Alexis Groves scored in the bottom of the first. The score stayed 3-1 until the sixth inning.

Pride freshman Calleigh Fangmyer made her varsity debut and pitched all nine innings, striking out five with two walks while allowing 16 hits.

Offensively for Heritage, Lauren Beecher collected two hits and scored a run. Whitney Malone and Alexis Groves both had a hit, two walks and a run scored for the Pride. Also for Heritage, Erin Brosnan, Lauren Mullen, Alexa Fox, and Groves each drove in a run.

Malone was impressive on the left side of the infield with seven putouts.
