Indianapolis (June 25, 2007) – Former Heritage High School hurdler Les Bradley crowned an impressive freshman season at Miami with a PR of 14.00 in the 110 hurdles at the USA Junior Track & Field Championships which wrapped up Sunday.
Bradley finished the 110 prelims third in his heat with a best-ever mark of 14.00.
As he waited for the results to see if he made it into the finals, he reflected on his first year in college: “Even with all of my injuries, I am still improving.”
As the final results were announced, Bradley was disappointed that he did not make the finals: “It makes me want it even more next year. I know that I have to train even harder than I trained this year”.
Bradley finished 11th overall with Hurricane teammate Cory Nelms taking ninth and missing the finals by .001.
Bradley will be staying in Miami to take some classes in summer school to easy the load during the year.
“It is hard carrying a full load and having to travel year round to compete,” said Bradley “I may as well take advantage of my scholarship and take summer classes towards my degree.”
Bradley has declared his major, exercise physiology, which is on the pre-med track. Bradley expects to return home to Leesburg around the beginning of August for two weeks before heading back to Florida for the fall semester.
