(Jan. 9, 2008) – The Loudoun County High School girls won their eighth straight game and took control of first place in the AA Dulles District with a 59-54 win over Broad Run Tuesday.

AA Dulles District
Broad Run 82, County 71: BR didn’t have top scorer R. J. Jasper (out with injury) but the Spartans got 21 from soph Kevin McGaughey and 20 from Scott Hiatt. Donne Lucas paced LC with 24 with the Raiders shooting 34 of 39 from the foul line! BR 3-1 in district, LC 2-2.
Girls basketball
AA Dulles District
Loudoun County 59, Broad Run 54: Samathan Akers scored a game-high 20 points with six steals and four rebounds as LC came back from a 7-point deficit. Freshman Brittany Batts scored 17 for LC with five rebounds, three steals and three assists. Kerry Sarver scored nine points in 14 minutes of action before fouling out in the third quarter and Kendra Holmes had a big fourth quarter with eight points for LC and she grabbed eight rebounds. Alexis Campbell led the Spartans with 12 and Morgan Roehling added 11. LC 4-0 in district, BR 3-1.
