Ashburn (Feb. 5, 2008) – The difference between Heritage and Broad Run in Monday’s AA Dulles District boys basketball game was a fraction of a second. Pride senior Chris Broderick was fouled in the backcourt just prior to the horn in overtime and he calmly sank both ends of a 1-and-1 free throw situation with 0.9 seconds left to give Heritage the 66-64 victory.
The win keeps Heritage (8-2 in district) a game ahead of Potomac Falls (7-3), a 57-52 winner at Park View (6-4) Monday behind 17 points from Alex Hogue, 15 which came in the first half.
