Game 1 @ Brentsville 9/8 W 19-0
Nokesville(Sept. 12, 2008) – The Heritage JV team started the year off on a good note on Monday, as they traveled to Nokesville to take on Brentsville District High School. They took the lead in the first quarter on a 32 yard run by Aaron Summers. The defense for the Pride followed the ‘bend but don’t break’ motto, and put up the first shut out of the year. The defensive effort was done by a committee of players including Brian Oberholzer, Tyler Schulze, Chuck Carlin, Austin Nelson, Austin Harmon, Shane Carrera, Jordan Grooms, and Joey Partin. The offense took advantage of the great defensive effort and put another score up before halftime as Ethan Depoy set up his own touchdown with a 50 yard run, followed by a 1 yard quarterback sneak. The Pride would stagger a bit in the second half, but would score late on another 20 yard run by Aaron summers to give the Pride the 19-0 victory. The Pride will travel to Loudoun County High School on September 23. The Pride are looking to continue their winning ways this year after an 8-1 mark last year. After the 19-0 victory, they are on their way starting off 1-0.
