South Riding (Dec. 8, 2008) – Broad Run High School captured its second straight gymnastics meet of the 2008-09 season with a victory in a AA Dulles District quad meet this week.
The Spartans scored 125 points to finish ahead of Freedom (119.8), Heritage (103.9) and Loudoun County (102.55).
Spartan Brittany Crichton captured the All-around with a 33.45, the second highest score reported this season by an area gymnast. LC’s Jessie Sheehan was second with a 32.250.

Heritage Report: The Heritage team was lead by senior Lauren Cassarly who placed 11th on vault and 1st on the beam (meeting qualifying standards for regionals on both events).
Seniors Natasha GLoger contributed to the team score on beam, floor and bars. Senior Ariane Chretien placed 11th in the all around, and 9th on floor. Junior Bria Nunley placed 5th on vault (meeting a regional qualifying score), 7th on bars and 7th on beam. Sophomore LE Lloyd contributed to the team score on vault, bars and floor. Competiting for
the first time in a high school meet were Junior Nina Pender and Freshman Emily Hays who’s scores helped the team to finish in third place.
The team’s next competition will be on Saturday at the Bobcat Invitational at Battlefield High School.
Loudoun County Report: The Raider Team was lead by Senior Jessie Sheehan who finished 2nd in the all around, 5th on bars, 2nd on vault, 2nd on floor and 6th on beam. Senior Liz Asai finished 9th on beam, 14th on vault, 2nd on bars, 3rd in the all around and 1st on floor. Junior Melody Akins placed 13th on floor. Freshman Jessica Drews placed 5th in the all around, 6th on bars, 8th on floor, 5th on beam and 2nd on vault. The team will next compete in the Bobcat Invitational at Battlefield High School on Saturday, December 13th.
