Freedom to Dedicate Stadium in Memory of Eric Olsen Tonight

South Riding (Mar. 19, 2009) – Freedom High School is still scheduled to dedicate their athletic stadium in honor of former lacrosse and cross country coach Eric Olsen in between the girls and boys lacorsse games tonight against Freedom of Woodbridge.

The renaming of the stadium in Olsen’s honor will take place around 7:15 p.m. Olsen was a popular coach and teacher at Freedom who passed away earlier this year after a fight with cancer.

The lacrosse doubleheader at Freedom is one of the few events name postponed due to the wet conditions today.

Here are updates as provided by schools and below is a schedule with all the sports including those still on.

Briar Woods HS

The Girls and Boys Tennis match scheduled for March 19, 2009 has been postponed to April 1, 2009.  Times and locations remain the same.

The JV Baseball game vs. George Mason has been postponed.  It is not yet rescheduled.

The Varsity Baseball game vs. George Mason is still on as planned.  The JV and Varsity Lacrosse game vs. Fauquier, at Fauquier is still on as planned. 

Broad Run HS

Tennis matches vs Freedom have been postponed until 3/31

Girls Lacrosse vs O’Connell has been postponed and rescheduled for next Thursday 6/7:30pm

 

 

Dominion HS

 

Today’s tennis matches vs Briar Woods has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 1.

 

Today’s JV and Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse games vs. St. John’s has been postponed, make-up date TBD.

 

 

Freedom HS

 

Today’s boys and girls lacrosse contest vs. Freedom of Woodbridge is still on as schedule with the Eric Olsen Dedication at approx. 7:15pm.  The girls game begins at 6pm and the boys game will begin after the dedication at approximately 7:45pm.

 

The boys and girls tennis matches vs. Broad Run have been postponed until Tuesday, March 31st.

Loudoun County HS

 

The boy’s and girl’s Lax games vs. PFHS scheduled for tonight and the boy’s and girl’s tennis matches scheduled for this afternoon with PFHS have been postponed due to the weather.  Make up dates will be forthcoming.

 

 

Park View HS

 

1.  Baseball game vs Broad Run has been cancelled

-Game will be made up this Saturday March 21st @ Broad Run HS at 12 (noon)

 

2.  Boys and Girls Lacrosse vs George Mason, will be played

-games have been moved to George Mason on the turf – Girls 6pm, Boys 7:30pm

 

3.  Boys and Girls Tennis vs Heritage has been cancelled and will be moved to Tuesday March 31st – game time 5pm due to transportation concerns

 

All practices will be inside tonight – check web page or updates posted outside of athletic office.

 

 

Potomac Falls HS

 

The following contests have been rescheduled for today:

 

Girls Lacrosse vs LCHS moved to 3/25 (Wednesday).  Same Time

Boys Lacrosse vs LCHS TBD.

Boys Tennis vs LCHS moved to 4/3 (Friday).  5:00 Start Time.  

Girls Tennis vs LCHS moved to 4/3 (Friday).  5:00 Start Time.

 

All practices are to follow indoor practice schedule.  Our softball game vs Skyline will be on as scheduled until a decision is made by them at 3:00 this afternoon.

 

 

Stone Bridge HS

 

The boy’s and girl’s Lacrosse games vs. Falls Church scheduled for tonight have been postponed due to the weather. They will be made up tomorrow Friday March 20, 2009
