Dulles District – Baseball
The first weekend of the Dulles District season saw some close games with three contests decided by two runs or less. LPS Editor Dan Sousa was able to catch up with five of the eight coaches and talk about their openers and the 2009 season:

Two-time defending Dulles District champion Broad Run opened with two strong pitching performances and LPS Editor Dan Sousa spoke with sophomore Brandon Craft after he got the win in the Briar Woods game and junior Chase Warren after he got the “W” against Park View.
Softball – Dulles District
Broad Run won its 59th straight game with a 3-0 win over Briar Woods on Friday. LPS Editor Dan Sousa had the following postgame interviews:
Soccer
Wednesday last week was a big week in soccer with the always entertaining Broad Run-Stone Bridge boys/girls varsity doubleheader. The Spartan girls and Bulldog boys pulled out 2-1 victories. The Spartan boys were much happier two days later when they beat Briar Woods, 2-1, to open Dulles District play.
