It was a long day of playoffs and LoudounPrepSports.com Senior Content Editor Dan Sousa was on hand for five games and he has 2,400 photos and videos to put up from the nine hours of regional and state playoff action. AA State Champions!

Congratulations to the following state champions from the AA state track and field meet (there were plenty of Loudoun top six performance so check back for the full article and results):

Christina Lee, Potomac Falls, 800 meters
Kiya Day, Dominion, 300 meter hurdles

Heritage boys 4×100 relay

AAA Northwest
Softball
Loudoun Valley 3, Battlefield 2: Vikes take Cedar Run District foe Bobcats in the fifth meeting this season between these two teams! Exciting finish with tying run on third and great tag at first by Jeanne Cahan to end game. Full story to come.

AA Region II
Softball
Broad Run 2, Orange County 1: Spartans capture fourth straight Region II title. Exciting game featured two great slides at the plate on Broad Run’s runs — one by Jenn Soroka and the other by Megan Waterman. Judy Betz earned the complete game win. Complete story, photos, videos to follow.

Girls Soccer
Broad Run 3, Heritage 0: Spartans capture third straight Region II title with Holly King netting the hat trick. Story, photos from postgame, video interview of King to follow

Boys Soccer
Potomac Falls 2, Broad Run 1: Conor Shanosky scored the game winner in overtime with about 20 seconds left. It was the Panthers fourth Region II title in five years. Complete story, photos, videos to follow.

VHSL State Lacrosse Tournament Quarterfinals
Boys
Broad Run 12, Loudoun Valley 10: Spartans jumped out to a 9-0 lead but held on in the fourth quarter as the Vikes mounted a mighty comeback that just fell short. Full story, photos and videos to follow.

Girls
Broad Run 16, Battlefield 12: It was a physical contest but the Spartans advanced to the state semifinals for the second time in three years. Full story, photos, videos to follow.
Loudoun Valley 12, Woodson 2: Vikes ready to stake their claim as the top team in the state as they cruise into the state semifinals. Full story, photos to follow.
