Greater Loudoun Storms into Sunday in Babe Ruth U18 SE Regional

Purcellville (July 25, 2009) – The Greater Loudoun U18 Babe Ruth team lost its opener in the Southeast Regional tournament at Fireman’s Field but bounced back with big back-to-back shutout victories Friday and Saturday to move into Sunday’s action with a 4 p.m. game scheduled.

After falling 10-3 on Thursday to Costal Plains, Greater Loudoun blanked Harris County (Ga.) 9-0 on Friday with Trey Brocke (5 innings, 9 strikeouts) and Ryan Howe (2 innings, 5 strikeouts) combining on a 1-hitter with 14 strikeouts and then the home team rolled past the Starr (S.C.) Tigers, 7-0, on Saturday with David Phillips (5 innings) and Thomas Moxley (2 innings) combining on a 4-hitter.
