Purcellville (July 27, 2009) – Greater Loudoun’s run at the U18 Babe Ruth Southeast Regional tournament came to an end Monday afternoon with a 6-2 loss to Costal Plains of Eastern North Carolina.
It was the second loss in the tournament for the host Lions against Costal Plains. After the tournament opening loss last Thursday, Greater Loudoun reeled off three straight wins.
Costal Plains fell Monday night to Mobile, Ala. which in turn lost to tournament champion, Baxter, Tenn. Tuesday morning. Baxter took the tournament with a perfect 4-0 mark.
