Leesburg (May 14, 2008) – Luis Brun scored twice, including in overtime, as the Heritage High School boys soccer team clinched its first ever AA Dulles District regular-season title.
It was also a first for the Pride’s first-year coach Betsy Munson, who never won a regular-season district title while at Clarke County, despite four consecutive state final appearances and back-to-back Group A titles.
“The monkey is off my back,” said Munson. “We always did it the hard way at Clarke.”
The Pride have now clinched a top seed in the district tournament which starts Saturday and have a bid into the Region II tournament.
