Pride remain unbeaten on the season

His quick reflexes in the muddy crease…stopped shot after shot in the second quarter that kept the Panthers in the game. Kevin McIntire played a strong game in front of his keeper, in efforts to keep the shooters at bay.


The next Contest for Potomac Falls (1-4 on the season, 0-1 in Dulles District Play) will be a non-district contest on the 9th at Arlington’s Washington and Lee.

The defense and goalies put forth and all around strong effort (while playing almost penalty free) in less than favorable conditions, and limited a potent Potomac Falls offense to six goals on less than 20 shots. Nik Smith led the defensive effort with a team record 15 ground balls in the game. Chris Rossie won all of his face offs and David McCarthy won 75% of his draws.

Heritage is 4-0 on the young season and ranked 2nd in the state by one tenth of a point (according to LaxPower.com power ratings) behind Charlottesville-area power Western Albemarle. They are 1-0 in district play and continue their season at Rival Loudoun County on Monday.

Heritage Girls Start off Strong with Dulles District Quad Meet Win

Leesburg (Apr. 2, 2008) – The Heritage High School girls track and field team got off to strong start Wednesday at a quad meet at Heritage where the Pride was testing out the district’s electronic timing.


Heritage will be the site of some of the area’s biggest track meets this season. Starting with next Saturday’s LoudounPrepSports.com Invitational and then the AA Dulles District meet and Region II meet.

April 1 Baseball and Softball Round-Up

AA Dulles District softball played April 1, 2008



(April 1, 2008) – Park View High School softball got back on the winning track with a victory over Heritage on Tuesday night.  Senior Laura Heironimus dominated on the mound with 15 strikeouts, giving up two hits—both in the seventh inning.  Offensively, the Patriots were led by Senior Emily Garcia who had three hits and scored three runs.  Sophomore Rebecca Patton had 5 RBIs with her two doubles and Sophomores Sam Gleason and Brittany Griffin also collected two hits.  All in all, the Patriots collected 14 hits, four of them for extra bases.  The victory evens Park View’s record at 1-1 with two games remaining this week. Hayfield visits Park View on Thursday and Park View travels to Potomac Falls on Friday evening.

AA Dulles District baseball played April 1, 2008


Heritage overcame a rough first inning where they surrendered three unearned runs to come from behind for the victory Tuesday.


Pride Sophomore Andrew Zarobila pitched five strong innings giving up one earned run and strking out six.

Park View Highlights: Park View gave up 10 unearned runs while collecting 14 hits. Drew Mason was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI, Zach Anderegg was 2 for 3, and Dylan Smith, Billy Bradley, and Ben Rosado were 2 for 4 with Dylan having a double and 1 RBI, and Ben having a home run and 1 RBI.

Heritage girls and boys soccer shut out Park View

The Heritage High School girls soccer team stayed undefeated with Lauren Furtner’s third shut-out of the year.  Kaitlin Thomas (2,3) and Jessica Haley (2,3) scored a pair of goals in the 4-0 win over Park View. 


The Pride are know 3-0 overall (matching their win total of last season).

Ivan Callejas scored on a PK in the second half for the first score of the game.  Second score was by Josh Thiel on a cross from Ivan Callejas.
